About Me

The Beauty of a Rose Garden

Thank you for stopping by my website. I’m assuming you, like me, think roses are amongst the most beautiful of flowers. My name is Willow May, and my rose garden is my greatest passion. I wanted to write a blog that will help inspire and educate others on the beauty of rose gardens. My rose garden is vast, about an acre in size. I have rose bushes, hybrid roses, trellises with gorgeous climbing roses, mini roses, and more. I am going to share growing tips such as the best time to plant your roses, pruning methods, watering, and feeding. I've also learned what the best growing conditions are as far as sunlight, drainage, and soil types. I hope that reading my blog will help you on your way to having a lovely fragrant rose garden of your own.

Hurricane Screens Have A Lot Of Benefits For Your House

Hurricanes can cause a lot of damage. The strong winds not only cause damage, but the debris picked up by the wind will cause even more damage. Then the rain can cause flooding and can get into your house through damaged walls, windows, and roofs. If you live in a hurricane-prone area, you want to make sure that you do everything you can to protect your house from hurricanes. That can include using hurricane tie-downs on your roof and installing hurricane screens.

Hurricane Screens

These screens are made of heavy-duty metal mesh. That mesh is woven tightly to make it strong, making it better stand up to hurricane-force winds and rain. These screens are designed to be hung around porches and lanais, but screens can also be installed over your windows to help protect your windows and your house better. If you are thinking about getting hurricane screens, you may wonder what the benefits for you and your house will be.

Full-Time Screen

Some hurricane screens can be used full-time if that's what you want. The tightly woven mesh will work to keep a lot of sun out of your porch, lanai, or windows without disturbing your view. While most of the screens are designed to be retracted or opened when there isn't a hurricane, if you don't want to retract them, then you don't have to.  Having the screens closed will also help keep bugs from your patio so that you can enjoy it more.

Insurance Savings

Your homeowner's insurance may give you a discount on your insurance if you have hurricane screens and other hurricane safety features installed. All those features are designed to help keep your house safe and minimize the damage that a hurricane can do to your home. The more safety features you have, your house is likely to be safer. A safe house less likely to sustain damage will save the insurance company money in the long run. They may offer discounts because that will incentivize their policyholders to install things like roof tie-downs and hurricane screens.

If you live in an area that is prone to hurricanes, you want to do what you can to keep your house as safe as possible. Adding features like hurricane screens can help keep your home safe from severe weather and the damage that hurricanes can do. All it takes is one tiny bit of damage to weaken your house and let the hurricane cause more damage.
